ISI Group公司分析师Brian Marshall本周一发布投资者报告，称传言称苹果即将发布的iPhone 6将配备更大的显示屏，这将引发2014年大量iPhone用户进行升级。与之前的传言相似，Marshall也认为苹果将推出两种版本的iPhone， 一种配备4.7寸显示屏，另一种使用5.5寸显示屏。这两种新款iPhone的外形设计将于目前的4寸iPhone 5s有很大的区别，这将引起新一轮换机热潮。
苹果目前的iPhone用户群大约有2.6亿用户，ISI Group认为今天一半的iPhone购买者之前都是iPhone用户，只是为了升级至最新款iPhone。ISI Group提到在2011-2012年期间，升级率大约在10-11%之间，现在已经降至大约9%，因为用户升级的理由很少，iPhone 5s和5c并没有包含重大的设计变化。
最好的升级率在12%-14%之间，ISI认为2014年下半年iPhone 6发布时就会创造全新升级率记录。大屏iPhone 6还将吸引Android用户换机，因为iPhone 一直缺少大屏幕。大屏狂热和需求一直被压制将增加iPhone销量，全新iPhone 6能让苹果股票每股收益增加3美元。今年新款iPhone可能会有很大变化，自2012年iPhone 5发布后，iPhone的外观就一直没有太大的变化。iPhone 5s内部组件进行了升级，还配备了Touch ID指纹传感器，但外形仍然与iPhone 5没有太大的区别。去年发布的iPhone 5c也是这样，除了增加颜色外，外观没有任何重大改变。
